Wow, what a year it has been.  The sentencing of Stephen Grant, Tara's murderer was a little over a week ago and yet it still seems like yesterday when I heard the news that Tara was missing.  I feel as though a weight has been lifted with the sentence that was handed down - 50 to 80 years.  Finally, justice was served and Tara's light will continue to shine in the darkness that consumed this past year.  As Tara's voice, I have discovered my calling in life.  Tara's death will serve to help others suffering from their own domestic violence situation and maybe, just maybe with education and support those in these types of situations will have the strength and courage to leave.  As I have said so many times, if this can happen to Tara, it can happen to anyone.  As I have reflect this past week on all of the events of this past year, I am numb.  Not really believing all that I know to well to be true.  Tara's life may have ended abruptly and without reason one year ago, but I believe there was a reason, only known by God.  Of course my earthly mind tells me that Tara's death will ultimately help others.  This I truly believe and that is why I will continue to advocate for domestic violence and be Tara's voice, all with the hope that one day this disease will no longer exist!

I just finished watching tonight's airing of Tara's story on Dateline.  What an unbelievable recount of what we and really all those that followed Tara's story endured over the last year.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about Tara and wish with all my heart that I could hear her voice again or see her face.  I am not sure I could have made it through this past year without the support and prayers of all of you.  Each person who leaves a message on Tara's website helps me in a way that is difficult to put into words.  I feel as though all of you have helped me grief the loss of Tara and in doing so, she is still alive to me.  Her spirit and story has touched so many people near and far that she will always be with me.  Maybe not in the flesh anymore, but in spirit for sure.  Thank you again to all of you.  You have been there every step of the way and it has made this journey a little bit easier to endure.

God Bless!

I want to thank everyone for their prayers during this very difficult time. I just watched the remembrance video of Tara and with tears I want to thank you for such a tribute to my beautiful daughter. I can't express how touched I was and have been by everyones thoughts and prayers for our family. These prayers have taken us through a full year of sorrow and without them I am not sure we could have indured so much. God Bless you all. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

To Tara's Family and Children: I was thinking of Tara tonight and decided to visit this website. In doing so, I realized it's the anniversary of her death. I can only imagine what this day is for all of you. May you find comfort from all the beautiful memories you have of Tara and by looking into her children's eyes. I just wanted you to know that Tara is thought of often even though we never met. I've visited this website often right from the very beginning of this tragedy, yet this is the first time I'm signing the guestbook. I'm not sure why it was tonight I decided to visit, yet while putting the dates together, realized I was meant to remember her tonight. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. May Tara live on in all of you. Warmest thoughts and prayers, Jennifer

Hello Alicia and Family, I just recently heard about this tragic crime through a book I read about her called "Slaying In The Suburbs, The Tara Grant Murder" The novel captivated me to no end and I stayed up until 2am anf finished the entire book in less then a day. My prayers go out to your family, Lindsey and Ian, I know they will someday hear the complete truth, and maybe even lies from others, just stay strong for your family and those precious children. I must say I was taken back and even disgusted as the way Steve's sister Kelly seemed to not care what he did to Tara, is was as though she was actually defending him! I couldn't believe it, that, in my eyes makes her a monster! She should have disowned him, and i truly believe he should have got charged with first degree murder, NOT second degree, I completely believe his act that night was premeditated, totally planned.! I am sorry if im rambling on, but this story has truly touched me, the one person you should feel totally safe with..your husband. and then this? It's so surreal to me! God Bless, be strong! -Nadine, Canada
